hi
I have a HP Pavillion tx 1000 having 4 gb ram, windows 8 pro 64bit and amd turion 62x2 mobile 2.1GHz
My laptop has been heating up a lot, even with laptop cooler and often shuts down automatically when it heats too much.
But, this has been happening since a long time but now when I start my laptop after its overheating menace the loading windows logo runs from right to left leaving a trail behind and when on the desk top the taskbar items highlight randomly

even when I play videos, the current frame after its rendered does not clear and the next frame plays in top leaving a trail behind

So I am suspecting either this is a virus or I have killed my laptop

Hi :)

Blow OUT THE FAN GRILLS with compressed air for the overheating problem...

Run a MALWAREBYTES and a NORTON 2013 trial (both free) ...FULL SCANS...

All the best Brett :)

Ok
I tried norton (nothing found)
Disassembled my laptop cleaned it, applied thermal paste, done.
But still it heats up and the logo starts running right to left when i use the fn key to increase the brightness and the taskbar items and selected icons flicker.
