Delete contacts on the text side(phone book)not the phone side

I can delete contacts in my Galaxy Ace 5830i phone book but not in the text contacts book.

Can you elaborate you query a bit more?

On my Galaxy Ace when I use the phone contact book I can delete contact numbers in the phone book by clicking at the bottom left of phone and up comes various options one of which is delete. When I want to send a text I click on the text section,write the text and then click on contacts in the text section.My problem is that in the text contact book I have upto triple contacts of the same contact including the same phone number.I want to tidy up the text contact book but when I open the text contact book and select a name /phone to delete the phone will not let me do it.I go down to the bottom left of the phone and nothing happens. I have gone back to shop where I bought the phone and they don't know how to delete or tidy up the text contact book side.As I said the phone contact book is no problem - it's the text contact book that won't allow us to delete in.
