My son brought home a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop from his grandmother. The battery has been replaced, the power cord, I have taken the memory out and it still doesn't work. It powers up the cap and number lock lights blink off and on, no picture and i think it is shutting down. Does anyone know what is wrong or has had this happen? Thanks so much

It is very likely your processor. This tends to happen if your processor is loose, broken, or missing. My recommendation would be to take off the bottom plate and check the processor. There will be a metal heatsink covering 2 square chips, the processor and the graphics card. Be carefull removing this heatsink, it is glued. Try tightening the screw. If that doesnt work, you need a new one. They are very cheap on ebay. DO NOT TOUCH THE PRONGS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CPU. Only handle processors with rubber or latex gloves. Hope it helps.
