Dell inspiron 1545 dvd drive problem

as my drive is working on and off ,some time reading few cd and dvds . when the cd is inserted most of the time it gives lot of noise and vibration also it indicates to insert the cd even it is already there. i cleaned the lens with petrol but in vain .pl reply at mohancpcl@gmail.com

Sounds like a bad laser. I'd start looking for a new one. I believe they are SATA interface, and the 1545 should be able to handle a Blu Ray/DVD combo if you want to upgrade. You can get the DVD only version for $20 +/- on eBay, and $30+/- for the BD/DVD.
