Dell inspiron 1720 display flickers

i have a dell inspiron 1720 laptop cant use it ecause the display jumps and flickers so much i cant see anything
i am thinking the video card can anyone help

Could be Video card or could be your screen is going bad... Try connecting it to an external monitor. if it does the same thing and has the same issues on an external monitor, then it's most likely the Vid card and not the screen itself.
