I have been having difficulty starting the laptop. The start button lights along with the right top 3 buttons but nothing happens. Sometimes I can continually push the start button and it will start up. I'm afraid it's the mobo that's gone bad and I should just buy a new laptop. Could it be anything else?

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to connect an external monitor while it's on with the light indicators. If you'll see any display from the external display that means it's the built in display that has the problem.
- If there's still no display on the external monitor try and reseat the RAM, take them all off for couple of seconds then put them back in and make sure they are all seated properly.
- Next is to try another AC adapter and see if it will resolve the issue.
- If all these will not work the problem would be the motherboard.
