Dell Inspiron 8 beeps, works on different angle :(

Hey All,

I have a dell Inspirion laptop which is 3 years old.

On startup, I get 8 beep sound. If I change the screen angle with respect to the keyboard and try at different angles, my laptop boots up at some random angle everytime.

I have run D+Power key test and the test works fine. I also ran diagnostic test (OBIST in dell) and it says that all the parts are in good health.

Please help me as to what the cause of problem is and how to I resolve it.

My primary suspect here would be the graphics cable from the motherboard to the display. I'd personally start by replacing that cable

Hello,

My name is Shrikanth and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. 8 beeps is an indication of LCD failure. When you say it works at different angles then the LVDS cable might be the point of failure or the connection might not be intact. Let me know if your system is in warranty.
