Solved! Dell Inspiron 9200 dvd drive

Hello,Have the above mentioned Laptop and I cannot play DVD's any longer. My DvD drive only shows up as a cd drive. Any suggestions

Try going to Dell's support site and downloading/installing the DVD drive drivers and firmware. If the drive is physically alright that should kick start it. If that doesn't work, it may be a sign that the drive is on its way out.

Make sure you pull the drive out to check for Manufacturer and Model Number, there are 14 choices on-site...
