Dell Inspiron Laptop Power Light Flashing White then Orange

I plug in my laptop to its AC adapter. I press the power button, and the power light flashes white, then orange, and then nothing happens. At first I thought it needed to charge, so I left it for about 10 minutes or so. Came back, same thing. When I unplug the AC adapter from the wall, then plug it back in, the laptop comes on. When it reaches the home or startup screen, the power light turns orange and the computer shuts off. Help????????

Have you tried to start on battery only?
Orange light on Dell PCs means motherboard failure, for laptops need to check more...

So far it looks like battery issue, how old is your laptop?

One way or another, it is not a laptop internals, which is good, only replaceable parts.
