Neither really matters (by brand) just what 'demands' she is putting on it. If she is just writing in Word, googling information and that is all her 'schooling' is, then any $249 laptop at Walmart will do fine for 'basics'.

Now if her schooling is to calculate the differences in fractional calculations across a 300 row by 500 column Excel spreadsheet for her Certified Public Account (CPA) class, then you will need a beefier 'CPU' (brain) to deal with that, and your talking the i3/i5 Based laptops around $500-700.

IF her 'schooling' is video editing her 15 Min 1080P Presentation on Modern Art, then she will need a beefier GPU based laptop and now your talking well over $1200.

Lastly if your talking she is doing her multilevel CAD...

Lastly if your talking she is doing her multilevel CAD schematics that including not only a multistory building, but all electrical wiring, piping, etc. in the design, then your talking SERIOUS hardware needs and well over $2000 for a 'Workstation' level laptop to do such 'schooling'.
