My dell studio 1558 laptop is not booting; last night only it was working perfectly fine. There is nothing coming up on screen, not even dell's logo but all the attached hardware like HDD and CD drive is ruining fine, power light on power button is also up; and whenever I press the power button, it halts the system instantly.
I've tried few things,
Removing and reinstalling RAM, HDD, CD drive.
Everything is working fine but, my system is not booting up.
Have you done a hard reset with your laptop? Remove the battery and AC adapter off the laptop then press and hold the power button for 20 secs. Put everything back together then turn the PC on. If the same problem persist after performing these steps try an re-seat the RAM, take the RAM off for couple of seconds and put everything back together then turn the PC on.
Last troubleshooting step you want to try is do a beep test.
- Remove all the RAM then power the PC on without them, if you'll hear a beeping sound make sure to re-seat the CMOS battery as well to clear the BIOS setting.
- If no beeping sound is heard that means that the motherboard could be faulty.
