Dell studio 1745

Hey i was wondering because i can't find info like max ram or anything for this pc. i just got it today for free and the audio is amazing!

the things i wonder about is:

1 when i opened it up in the back, i saw network card, hdd, ram etc
but it was also a huge hole in the middle wich i don't know what is for, what is it for?

2 what are my options of upgrades?

2. You can upgrade your RAM (unless it is already at the max), your HDD to SSD, maybe GPU but not the CPU (which can be done only Dell Technician's).

Thanks. i have seen my exact cpu on ebay separate at a very low cost. its an intel core 2 duo p8700. so are you sure its not possible? is it because of bios stuff or something?

Yes, i'm sure. Only authorized Dell service center's or Dell technician maybe able to do upgrade your CPU. If you somehow try it, you will be voiding the warranty of your laptop. Its not the BIOS stuff, most of the CPU of laptop's are integrated to the motherboard but you may have some option to upgrade it. You can confirm it with Dell Technical Support.! Goodluck!!
