Hi All

I have a Dell E6410 and seem to be having a really annoying issue.
My Dell Alps touchpad mouse is sometimes playing up.

When I move my finger on the touchpad left the mouse pointer on the screen moves right (vice versa) and when I move my finger on touchpad Up on the screen the mouse moves down.

SO basically its doing the opposite. Also the pointer sporadically jumps to a different part of the screen. While tying this the mouse is jumping to different parts in this text box.

Hope you can help
Cheers
Dave

Hello supafly_mx,

My name is Shrikanth and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. I would request you to update the bios http://dell.to/1pSVYTo and then try reinstalling the touchpad drivers by going to this link http://dell.to/1lTHx4p punch in the service tag go to drivers and downloads under mouse, keyboards you will find the touchpad drivers. Update the same let us know if it helps.

Thanks and regards

Hi Shrikanth

Yes I have updated the bios to the latest and have installed the latest Dell drivers for touchpad as well as tried other older drivers.
I am wondering if there is a conflict occurring somewhere with the touchpad and something else ?
Is there a windows generic touch pad driver ?

The issue is intermittent

Thnx

Hi supafly_mx,

There is no generic driver as such. The synaptics driver is the one recommended for this. Did you make any changes to the system? Was it working fine before?

Regards
