Dell Vostro 3750 some questions

Hi, I have vostro 3750: http/www.techdata.com/business/dell/082010_123/Files/may2011/Dell%20Vostro%203750%20Spec%20Sheet.pdf with this spec.:

-i5-2430M
-4GB of ram
-nVidia 525M, intel HD graphics 3000
-500 GB HDD

I have some troubles with this laptop, when i buy it in 2011, main thing is performance, it's have i5 but still slow. What is the main problem with these laptops? HDD, ram, chipset or etc.? How much money I can get for this laptop now, cause I don't wanna waste money for SSD and ram. But also you can recommend some ssd's and ram's. Thanks

Are you saying it no longer feels as fast as when you first bought it? Are you currently using more demanding programs or playing more demanding games than when you first bought it?

Completely reinstalling Windows can help because the Windows Registry can grow large overtime which can decrease performance. Increasing the RAM to 8GB can help a little especially if you are currently doing uses a lot of RAM. You can also try defragging the hard drive since overtime files can become fragmented.

One of my laptops has a core i5-2410m and a 500GB hard drive and it is still fast enough for my needs. Boot up time is around 45 - 60 seconds and I am fine with that. The nVidia 550m is still enough to play some games, but I don't play games with this laptop anymore.

A stick of 4GB RAM is pretty inexpensive at $24. You should check to see if your laptop currently has 1 stick of 4GB RAM or 2 sticks of 2GB RAM. Laptops generally only has two RAM slots, but there are some that only has 1 slot.

A SSD can help make your laptop "feel" more responsive because read / write speeds are much faster than hard drives. So programs can launch faster and Windows can boot faster; generally 15 seconds or so. But they are still relatively expensive. A 512GB SSD starts at $160 while a 256GB SSD starts at $85.

Your laptop is not worth very much. People list them for $250 to $350 on ebay. Whether it sells at those prices is a different matter.

I don't know how to explain, but sometimes I feel the hdd is really slow for this laptop. Also unknown brand of ram is inside , I think it's don't give a good performance too Thanks for answers
