Dell XPS Won't Power On

I am in desperate need of some help here. Earlier today my laptops screen was flickering on and off, so I began to move around my display cable. All of the sudden my laptop shut off, and now wont turn back on. When I have the battery or power cord in, the LED on the power button is always on, but the computer definitely isn't since I don't hear the fans or anything. Could something have short circuited? Any help is appreciated.
