I have an old but working HP laptop.
I'd like to build a desktop box with a Pentium 3258 and inexpensive mobo, that would use the laptop for it's keyboard touchpad and monitor functions.
Is there a way to do this that is economical? Electricity consumption of running both at same time not a concern.

Thanks for any help!

No. The screen isn't a screen with a VGA cable, it use special interfaces, as does the keyboard, that runs through all kinds of controller chips.

OK, thanks very much for the quick answer getotchkn!

Too bad, that keyboard is quite nice. I've never bought a desktop keyboard near as nice as the laptop keyboard. Even most new laptop makes of that price range don't feel as good.
