I got a used Pavilion X2 detachable notebook laptop from my brother yesterday, was wondering if I could somehow detach the tablet from the keyboard with HDMI plugged from the keyboard to my monitor, and still use it?
The tablet gets in the way.
Thanks.

Not possible, as I'm sure that the connection between the tablet and keyboard is some sort of proprietary connector, not something common like USB.

Something like this MIGHT work: https://www.walmart.com/ip/17253322?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227000987195&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40880346152&wl4=pla-78810085952&wl5=9018803&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla_multichannel&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=17253322&wl13=&veh=sem

It could connect wirelessly to the tablet section, eliminating the need for the keyboard that it came with. Then the tablet section could just lie flat on the desk, out of the way.

Or even something like this, if you prefer a separate mouse to a touchpad:

From what I see, the HDMI comes out of the tablet/screen. Not the keyboard.
There is nothing in the keyboard to output any vid signal.

Unless I am misunderstanding your question.

The tablet part is the computer. You can't use only the keyboard.

As per above, I also doubt the keyboard has HDMI. Looks like USB only but I can't tell from the pictures.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact you need the tablet part.

This is a confusing question as I can't picture your problem. You didn't mean the "keyboard" gets in the way did you? If so, and the keyboard blocks the HDMI connection you'd have to use this without the keyboard.

The screen gets in the way of my monitor, I just want a convenient way of using my monitor without anything being in the way, I dont have an actual PC unfortunately.

Still completely unsure of what your situation is.

You have this Pavilion 2 in 1?
And a monitor?
And.....?

He has a tablet with a detachable keyboard. He somehow wants to use the tablet keyboard hooked to a regular computer monitor without the tablet being attached to the keyboard, because the tablet stands up in the way of him seeing the computer monitor. The HDMI port is on the tablet part. Sounds undoable to me, because obviously the tablet section and keyboard section need to be connected together for the keyboard to work.
