Did I fry my MOBO?

I halfway put my laptop back together and powered it on to test it out. The system booted up fine but I noticed that I forgot to plug in the touchpad. While attempting to reconnect the touchpad connector to the motherboard, the laptop immediately powered off. There is absolutely no sign of power, including the battery charging LED. It sounds like I fried the MOBO but I don’t see any visual signs of that. Could there be any other damage besides the MOBO?

(The power supply is verified good)

You blew a fuse but where that actually is is a mystery.

I moved this to laptop tech support. Please let them know the make and full model# of the laptop and maybe someone has access to the motherbd layout.

Is it likely that I can just remove and replace a fuse to fix it?

If it is a fuse and you dont have skill to replace you can just solder a wire there. This means next time there is no protection and you will kill more compoents.

never remove any components or add while you have battery or power cable connected, its better to press power button 10seconds after removing them even to remove any from circuitry. Try boot without touchpad , probably wont work, if it doent take pictures of motherboard high resolution model number etc

ur link doesnt work. did you try boot with battery only if your charger was maybe killed?

That’s weird, it is currently working for me. The sticker says:
Mb assy: 1397B0086101
Mb: 1110A2338704

And yes, the charger is verified good.

need model number its written on the motherboard. remove ac adapter and battery then press power button for 1minute. add in battery if it still has power and try to boot without ac adapter
