I have a Direct TV TiVo and six other receivers. Two of the receivers are
older style Hughes. One of those is HD. I have 4 newer style D10-200
receivers
that are about a month old now.
The problem is that when I set the favorites list on the newer receivers,
DTv adds their advertising channels to those lists about every couple of
days. They apparently can't do it to the Hughes receivers for some
reason... they remain unaffected. This is getting F#$%ing annoying. I
can't keep my favorites lists as I set them no matter what I do.
They only add DTV, pay sports channels (they don't work.. they are just
there) and other things like their satellite launch. Nothing but channels
related to what DTV wants you to purchase or watch.
I have called Direct and they are clueless... so they say, that is until I
reached a senior tech.
He told me that until enough people complain, they won't change it.
Any ideas on how to stop this practice other then tell them to shove the
whole thing and go to cable???
Oh yeah.. it doesn't seem to effect the TiVo.. at least I don't think it
does.. I never really use the TiVo guide.. too slow.
