disappearing monitor sound

as i went to switch the sound from headphones to the monitor ( by right clicking the lil speaker icon to get the realteak win) to my shock the monitor symbol was no longer there my question, how do i get it back?

Try right clicking the speaker icon and choosing 'playback devices' You should see your monitor there as an option. Simply select this, and adjust levels accordingly.

your describing the steps i just described to relay my problem not solve it, the icon for the monitor is no longer in the realtek window. when you right click the speaker icon just the headphones and the digital stuff for the sound board are in that window. im on win10 on a hotrod custom rig tbh that idk anything about. when i pluged the monitor in the comp it booted up with it there. i used it for about 4 months as my exterior sound speakers last week when i was changing it from headphones to speakers somehow i messed it up and nothing i do fixes it including a restores thats the story help......
