Display issue

Hello,
i have a acer aspire, water was spilled onto the lid
i let it dry out for over 24 hours before amtemping to turn it on. when i turn it on the display didnt come on
i then hooked it to a spare monitor and everthing works!
any ideas what the problm is???

Reseat the monitor connection cables. You may have to replace the LCD screen.

ugh i was hoping itd be easier then that but i guess thats my best bet
