Does laptop cooling pad affect my laptop coooling system?!

Hi , I want to get laptop cooling pad for my HP Elitebook x360 to decrease it's temperature while using it on my desk , But I'm afraid of damaging my laptop as I noticed that my laptop fan is located in bottom of laptop almost same position of the external cooling pad fans , So will the air generated from this cooling pad affect my laptop fan spinning direction ?
