Does my laptop has multi gpu?

I have recently bought laptop with graphics card gt840m and it also has inbuilt intel 5500 hd graphics with processor.

Does that mean i have multi gpu?

Yes,you've got two different GPUs [a Discrete/Dedicated one + an Integrated one].

With most laptops like that, what happens is it uses the integrated graphics for lower demand processes, then kicks in the 840m for more demanding tasks (like games with better graphics), it does this to save power as the integrated uses less power than the card. I believe Nvidia calls the tech "Optimus".
