Don't seem to have a 2.1 option available to me - Advice appreciated?

I have a 2.1 speaker system but unfortunately that option is not available to me, When I plug the speakers into the speaker out socket in the motherboard I am only presented with the following options:

stereo is what you want. that is correct.

technically the cable only handles two channels (left and right) anyways so the wiring for a 2.1 and 2.0 are identical except the subwoofer and how it is integrated into the wiring on the speaker side.

the sub is wired up so that it will trigger on all the low sounds from those channels.
