Question DT 990 PRO Volume is extremly low.

Hi there guys,

Long time lurker here and require some advise.

I have DT 990 PRO's connected to Asus Strix Soar audio card via audio jack into the headphones port, but the audio appears to be really low. All the volume setting have been set to max 100%, but when playing music it sounds like all the volume is at 15%.

Through some trial and error I was able to bring the audio level up slightly by changing the Impedance setting from low to high in Strix Sonic Studio.

My mobo is: ROG STRIX X299-E Gaming

When plugging the headphones through the front panel they appear to be okay, but they don't run through the sound card and unable to utilize the sound cards Sonic Studio settings.

Am I doing something wrong ? Is the audio card only for speakers ? Should I opt to buying an amp ?

Any advise would be appreicated it

Sorry to reply with questions...Did you go into the BIOS and disable the onboard audio? Did you connect the case's front audio cable to the sound card itself and make sure it isn't connected to the MOBO?
