DVD sound issue - don't hear spoken dialogue

On some DVDs, we hear the soundtrack but not the spoken dialogue. This is not on the computer but on the DVD player hooked up to the TV. Most movies work fine but some don't - any suggestions?

Check out the front center channel and it's speaker. That is where many DVD's put the dialogue.
