dvi-d 1 port reads backwards

when i plug my monitor to the dvi-d 1 port it shows up as the port 2 and vice versa. How can i fix this. i have an hp elite book 8740w and a hp230w advance docking station on winows 7 professional.

Right click on the desktop > personalize > Display > Change Display settings (top left corner) > swap the locations of the 2 monitors in the window in top center.
