I'm sure this is a question that is asked here a fair amount, so apologize in advance for asking it, but in searching for the answer, I have tended to get answers to the question from 2004 and 2005 which aren't exactly relevant today. Anyway, I am simply trying to take programs saved on my DVR (the current Comcast DVR) and transfer them to my computer. Most programs will of course be HD, so that would be needed as well.
I know I can hook up my computer to it and capture the video while it is playing, but I would prefer a method that wouldn't require the replaying of the content, and instead simply transferred or converted and transferred the content to my computer. I wouldn't be averse to buying a new box or something like that, though my resources are limited (~$200). Thanks for any help you can offer!
