Earbud microphone not working, but can playback on speakers.

Hello there,

My earbuds have been working fine, so has the microphone for the past couple of months or so, i think it's the standard Samsung earbuds. It's kinda hard to explain, but when i try and talk in either teamspeak or skype, they choose my laptop mic as standard. I've tried everything, going in to recording devices, checking for deactivated stuff, nothing. Only thing that shows up are my default speakers and default microphone. Please help.

There is one thing i find strange,

When I do this,

Go to properties --> Levels

Then i turn on the microphone,

Then i go to the RECORDING tab again and can hear myself through the earbud microphone. (The microphone listed is my default built in laptop mic.)
