Thank you so much as I've looked everywhere to try to figure out why the touchpad keeps turning off or on "magically" - I didn't realize I was hitting the silver key on the left of the power button~!three silver buttons above the keyboard , one on the left is for switching on and off the touchpad . if this doesnt work (simple as it may seem some people havent realised thats what this button is for ) then you must have deleted the drivers and must reinstall the synaptic pointing device drivers
