Hello,

I have a weird problem at work. I am supposed to use a document online, pdf.

It is the SIA registrant list on the official Bahamas government website.

The 2018 list is blocked at work, http://www.scb.gov.bs/documents/Firms%20%20as%20at%2030%20September%202018.pdf

But the 2017 is not. http://www.scb.gov.bs/documents/SIA%20Registrants%20as%20at%2030%20September%202017%20for%20website.pdf

None are blocked on my personal computer with Kaspersky... Can I trust the 2018 veresion

My question might be stupid, but, as our IT is actually on vacation, I need some help...

Thanks

Considering the source of the document which seems to be fairly official, I'm assuming both documents should be safe but if you're IT is blocking it there might be a reason, it's weird that you can reach the site for some documents (most blocking I'm aware of is either block out the full site so even http://www.scb.gov.bs would not be accessible if that were the case.) Another possibility is some antivirus software reacting badly to that specific document. But your description doesn't really say how the file is getting blocked.

If your IT is not reachable, then I'd say wait until they are. Better safe than sorry.
If that's not an option at least go to your immediate supervisor, tell them of the situation and how they want you to...
Obviously, there is nothing we can do about the security that is in place for your documents. That is entirely up to your vacationing IT Team. BTW, it's against Tom's Hardware policy to assist in bypassing any security protocols for any reason, so even if there were a way, we could not assist.
