Error 99 in rebel xs

Hello,
i got an error 99 in my rebel xs, i already update the firmware but error still popping. i can still take some shots but once you turn it off and turn it on again, error comes. then you have to remove the battery, then it will work fine.

Yea, mine is doing the same thing. Really makes me mad after paying over $800 for this camera. I installed the update also and i worked for about a day and started the same thing over. Guess I am gonna have to send it to Canon and pay no telling what to get it fixed. I will never buy a Canon again.
