External GPU Upgrade?

So I am stuck on a Dell Inspiron laptop with my GPU soldered to the motherboard. My GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce 820m with a i5 5200u 5th gen processor.

I can run NBA 2k14 seamlessly on my computer but having trouble with other games and need a GPU upgrade. I also question whether my GPU is being utilized at full capacity so I might try some type of boosting software to make my computer more efficient. Having said that, I still don't know if my computer will be able to quite be what I need it to be.

I've read about setting up an external GPU that you plug into the computer. Does anyone know about this or what's the cheapest, most efficient way to set something like this up?

There isn't one. Only real option is if you had thunderbolt and it's still more expensive than it's worth. Buy a new laptop or build a new desktop
