External monitor on laptop

Hi guys,
I would like to ask if I link ASUS G46 which is a 14" laptop to a 22" monitor, would I be able to run any games at 1920x1680 without any problem?
As I know, 14" laptop only supports up to 1366x768.

If not mistaken, g46 supports up till 900p?

If you set the output to external only rather mirroring the laptop display or extending the desktop, then the graphics card will run at the native display of the monitor.

so the resolution of the laptop display doesn't limits the resolution the GPU can support over the VGA/HDMI/Display port?

thanks alot how bout if i wanna dual monitor. laptop screen as secondary it would affect any right?
