FA: PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY 1945 DONNA REED LASERDISC

I have this title for auction ending Sunday night as well as hundreds of
other titles (almost a thousand) in my eBay store.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6407793175

The reason I post just one item is because experience has taught me that if
I post a long list, few look, but if I just post one, my counter on that
item jumps, and the titles usually sells.

Even though I have many, I just post one every day or so, to keep up
interest.

This works. It results in sales. Other methods of posting here do not work
as well, or at all.

If this group were flooded with dozens on posts ever day, I probably would
not post as often, but most days there is usually only one or two.

To each their own. You seem very authorative on what manner of
advertisement is most effective.
I have been on this ng. for years, and not that many years ago, you'd
get flayed alive out here for doing multiple posts.
That is what led ME to doing one single post per week, with the main
gist of what I'm selling in the header, with that one post comprised of
many listings of "better" titles.
I wouldn't even dream of listing mundane, common titles out here, as
most of the enthusiasts out here already have them!

I try to only post titles that are not available on DVD or have multiple
bids on previous listings by other sellers. This is not a mundane title and
already has watchers and a considerable jump in the counter.

Happily, as with LP records, there are a number of people that prefer analog
to digital, and there for, laserdiscs to DVD's.

As an occasional shopper of laserdiscs, I sort of appreciate the way
etvideo1 advertises his Lds. Rarely do I actually purchase one, but many
times the title perks my interest enough to research the title and read up
on it.

Every now and then though someone advertises a single title this way that I
do end up buying; one was Sweeney Todd, (which eventually made it's way to
dvd).

But I almost never look at a long list of available discs. Just too tedious.
So, I would say that "et" has a pretty good strategy.

As for being flayed for advertising on this newsgroup; I've been flayed for
a lot less on this newsgroup. Simply "seeming" to post something OT has
earned me private e-mails mainly consisting of rude and obscene language. I
cannot imagine anybody being that bent out of shape over these issues and I
have to conclude they have some personal problem.

But the number of postings to this newsgroup in general has shrunk over the
last couple of years. And given that I don't know why anyone would worry
about any post. OT or otherwise.

Thank you for your kind words. I have found that most readers here do not
post. I just sold 12 titles out of my eBay store to someone who read one of
my posts.

Even though I have posted one title out of 36 listed on Monday, The title I
post on Saturday from the same group has a significent jump in the counter
after the post. Often, a title will get a bid on the day that I post it
here. I don't fully understand it, I just know that it works.

13 actually .. at first I tried to negotiate price, but he wouldn't budge
;-) But he does have quite a selection of titles so I limited myself to
the ones I really wanted and he was nice enough to combine the shipping
costs.

Most people that sell LDs on ebay are pretty tough to get in touch with ..
this guy was responding to me within minutes of sending questions.

Hey John. Didn't mean to ignore you. I thought I got the Ben Hur DVD from
an oline seller.

If it were you that did that you do have my apologies. Tell me how I can
make it right.
