Fan suddenly goes max speed

So i have a HP pavilion dv7 7000 series laptop running win 10. Lately the fan starts going max speed without any load on the cpu or gpu. When i give it a slight pound it goes back to normal. I took it apart, removed the dust, otherwise the fan looks fine. Any suggestions?

When you took it apart, did you by any chance change the thermal paste? At least that is if you removed the fan, rather then just dusting while it is still attached.

Either way, if the fan is speeding up for no apparent reason, it is probably on its way out. Better to replace the part now, than to wait until overheating sets in and damages other components. Do be sure to clean off all the old thermal paste and add a nice layer of new paste when you install the new fan.
