[citation][nom]wild9[/nom]Erm, with respect isn't that based on the notion it was people (or rather terrorists fighting for Islam), that were responsible? If so then where is the proof? Some people say that for certain voices within government, and in this economic state, 9/11 couldn't have come at a better time.[/citation]
Well statistically the majority of airline bombings are attempted and carried out by Middle Eastern Muslim men. I don't know enough about this case, but in terms of screenings for airport security it makes to sense to "racially profile" and primarily pull aside Middle Eastern men. Honestly, I may not be Middle Eastern but I look like I am (olive complexion, facial hair) so I get "randomly searched" frequently. I don't mind, because I never have anything on me warranting arrest and it's never been a major inconvenience. Now of course if they started saying I couldn't board my flight then I'd be pissed...but it makes logistical sense to pull aside Middle Eastern men since you can't search everyone. So long as racial profiling isn't getting in the way of standard investigative procedure and law enforcement officers are following actual leads and not chasing stereotypes, I don't have an issue with it. Note, I don't mean to push anyones buttons or even argue, just expressing my opinion.
