[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]HAHA.... some organization... their "leader" saves his own ass by turning all his friends in.[/citation]

That's the problem with every single organization that has enemies. You better trust your leaders, as they might view their members as a "Get out of Jail" cards...

[citation][nom]willard[/nom]You'll find little support for that position here. Tom's is largely populated by, I'm guessing, pissed off teenagers who think corporations are the ultimate evil in the world. You see it constantly in the incessant bitching and moaning about prices and how they're being like, totally unfair by not selling brand new technology at a loss after spending billions to develop it.It's a culture of entitlement and anger directed at those who dare run a business like a business. They don't realize that a small number of corporations, almost exclusively in the financial sector, are responsible for the economy being in the state it is and instead lump every one of them into a broad category of white collar criminals. They then applaud the efforts of anyone to damage these groups they've decided are criminals, totally ignoring the fact that these damages actually increase the price of goods and divert resources away from efforts that would have made the goods better. It's an extremely narrow minded worldview that will only be changed with experience and age. I was a teenager once too, and I know what it's like to have the world all figured out, drawn in clear black and white. If you feel like you've been wronged it feels good to see bad things happen to those who you think wronged you. Doesn't matter that you're angry at the wrong person, or looking to punish the innocent. You just want blood.[/citation]
I understand the mentality, the same kind of people who during a powercut go out and loot shops that are owned by their friends and neighbours, and when the Police show up they burn it to the ground and start smashing everything in site

The Dead Kennedys said it best:- "Tonight it's a blast, tomorrow you're homeless"

They need to wake up and smell the coffee, trashing shit aint cool and neither is hacking

[citation][nom]jl0329[/nom]I just wish the hackers would focus their energy on shutting down all child pornography sites/serves first instead of attacking those big corps. If there is a hack group that focus on purging child pornography, I will happily donate $$ for their work.[/citation]
Problem is if they get caught accessing the systems, even to hack them, they could easily be accused of wanting the kiddie porn for themselves and that is too risky for ANYONE who isn't actually a real nonce.

[citation][nom]alidan[/nom]people with principals and conviction.[/citation]

People with principles and convictions don't form groups like Lulzsec. Well, they might have some sort of conviction in a few months...

And people will be using a brute force attack on their back door as well

These hackers deserve whatever punishment they get. They arrogantly sit behind their computers thinking that they are invulnerable. Their crimes are well thought out and pre-meditated and hurt a lot of people.

Sabu snitching out the others is the way the government works with all kinds of crime. The government likes to call this cooperating and if your caught you basically get a chance to reduce your time and if you don't take it you will face a much longer sentence under current laws.

Federal crime is all about the sentencing game because usually when the Feds bring charges against you it is most likely you will be convicted. The same is not true for State charges. When the Feds come for you it is usually cooperate or go to jail for a long time. Its how they take down organized crime, white collar crime etc.

Here its a shame that "Sabu" will get a reduced sentence but its good he has been outed and even his photos are online now. Whether or not he will suffer from that remains to be seen.

All these guys should be prohibited from working for pay in any form from the government in the future.

Complete and utter bull.

Here's a hint Fox News drone, the corporations and big banks ARE the problem. They buy off the politicians.

Why do you think SOPA, and other bills are even around? You think the clueless idiots who have a hard time turning their computers on would just one day come up with a bill to try to stop something they don't understand for no reason?

Are you that sheltered to how corrupt the US government is?

He's still going to jail. He's plead guilty to a range of charges. The FBI merely used him as a tool before throwing him away. Sabu thought he was an FBI agent but he was nothing more than a rat on a leash.
