Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5565 laptop, that has the standard 1366 x 768 HD display. There was also an option to buy this laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD display.

Is it likely that I could simply swap out the HD and fit the FHD display? I guess there may be limiting factors such as power and graphics capabilities? The CPU is an AMD A9-9400 with R5 graphics, so not overly capable. I'm not particularly worried if not, but if it could be done, then it saves alot on buying the laptop with the FHD screen originally.

Thanks

If you are gaming you will lose FPS going from 1366x768 to 1920x1080, you can always run your game at 1366x768 if you choose.

If you aren't gaming there is no difference.

You can, screen swaps are not usually that hard, just google Dell Inspiron 15 5565 service manual to figure out the way to swap them
a 1080p screen will cost either 57-60 bucks if you want glossy or not from here https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/Dell/INSPIRON%2015%205565/
(I has used this site several times in the past or buy replacement screens never had an issue)

Thanks for the fast response! That's a useful link, I may well go ahead and do this. I'm hoping that getting the bezel off around the screen is straightforward, as some of the older laptops had screws.

Do you think the graphics will be sufficient though?

Thanks, your advice is definitely appreciated!

I'm only going to be doing day to day tasks and watching YouTube videos on it (which again I guess will mean a lower FPS on playback). The higher aspect ratio just makes everything look more spacious.
