I need a second opinion on the capabilities of the E10K.
I have a pair of 250Ohm DT880s, and of course the problem is that the E10K is rated up to 150Ohm. Some people seem to think it will drive my cans no problem, but I really want to be sure. My Realtek ALC889A has trouble when it comes to music with low volume masters (most good classical music), but I really don't want to spend $100 if the E10K will only give me a 5% volume increase.

Solution
Review on Amazon says: - Recommended headphone impedance 60–150 Ω, thus it can ONLY PROPERLY DRIVE SMALL TO MEDIUM SIZED CANS. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 650's which have an impedance of 300 Ω and not only is this DAC/AMP underpowered, it also requires a 1/4“ adapter.

Wow, I didn't realise the 650s came with a non-removable 1/4". I assume it's so you're forced to buy an additional cable using their proprietary connectors if you want a 3.5mm jack.
