Firefox, some search engines cannot be installed.

Windows xp pro sp3
Latest firefox.

Not seen this error before.
Go to:
manage search engines
get more search engines

If I fx try to install youtube or wikipedia de, and other search engines,
then I get this message:
You need a mozilla based browser to install a search plugin.
And search engine cannot be installed.

Well firefox should be a mozilla browser.

Knowing about the error?

Some add ons can be installed and some not.

Uninstall / reinstall firefox.

Uninstall / reinstall firefox.

Thank you. I uninstalled and reinstalled. And then add ons could be installed. I have reason to believe that the error occurred because miro podcast installs
avg search engine malware.
