Solved! firestick to projector

i tried plugging my firestick into my dell 2400mp projector with a hdmi to vga adapter and it keeps on saying searching for signal. i tried lowering the resolution but it still doesn’t work

Yeah, that's not gonna work at all. A Firestick is designed to work in HDMI only.

You would need an active HDMI to VGA plus audio converter. The projector is native 1024x768 but will accept a 720p or 1080i input. How did you lower the resolution of the stick if you can't see the menu to do that?
