Firetv to projector

I have a Amazon Fire stick that I'm connecting directly to an HDMI port into my projector that is a Prestige Imaging UHD 4000 but every time I plug it in it says Amazon then it goes black and says no signal do I need to use some type of converter

Does your FireTV stick work on "ordinary" TV / PC monitor with HDMI input?

If it does work on a ordinary TV you can try reducing the video resolution of the stick.
There are no real specs on that projector online so even if it says it's 1080p compatible the native resolution of the projector is less than that. Try 720p and down.
