Question Flickering / Potential Dead Screen? Lenovo T540p

Many many years ago my brother smacked the back of my laptop and now 1/3 of the screen is flickering, or was, I used to just be able to smack the back of the screen and it would be fine but now it’s gone completely white except for when I power on the system the 1/3 shows some life. I’ve poked and prodded around the screens ribbon cable and that’s done nothing. So considering that side shows some life theres hope that we can revive it, please somebody here know some solution or give me some advice that isn’t just “get a screen replacement bozo 😂 “.
