Forcing my phone to Sprint

How can I force my LC VX4500 to "roam" on Sprint? My Verizon coverage near
my home really stinks and was just wondering if perhaps Sprint might have
better coverage in my area.

I achieve this by going into the service menu (menu - 0 - 000000), force
mode, pcs. This works in my area since VZW is 800mhz B side and Sprint is
the only CDMA carrier in the PRL in 1900mhz.

Here in the NYC area I do believe that Verizon does have some PCS
towers...I guess I'd have to check the system ID to see if I'm using Verizon
or Sprint.

Ok, well in that case there is another way to do it. You can go into
programming and set the Sprint PCS ID as your home ID and then in one of the
settings menus (not in the secret service menu) you can set it to "home
only". This will force your phone onto the system ID you set as home. If
you set it to "automatic A" or "automatic B" then it will use the PRL.

I don't know what Home SID is used for these days in programming since the
PRL is what normally dictates what system you lock on it. Leaving the
Sprint system ID as your home ID does not seem to have negative impacts...
