Hey all,

My daughter needs Productivity software that is compatible with MS word, excel and powerpoint.

I know there is free software out there but which one is compatible with the above and also user friendly for a teen to use.

Oh the OS being used is windows 10 so it would have to be compatible with that to.

Many Thanks!

LibreOffice is about as compatible as it gets.

OpenOffice originated with Sun, who released it as open source. Later, Oracle bought Sun, then sued Google over use of their previously open Java in Android. That caused nearly everyone who had built software platforms using Sun's previously-open technologies, including OpenOffice, to jump ship. (The Linux port of ZFS is dead for the same reason.)

The folks working on OpenOffice took a version of OpenOffice which predated Oracle's acquisition, and forked it. They named their new product LibreOffice. For the purposes of continued support, LibreOffice is the safer choice. There's no telling if/when Oracle will sue anyone maintaining OpenOffice, killing the project.

I use it as well, just make sure to goto options, save, and set all type opf documents to be saves as Microsoft office 97-2013 formats for each application type (word, excel etc) and you will be fine.
