The problem is most home theatre systems are made mostly to support the blurays for surround as it's primary function and other sounds as an after thought.
If your TV has an optical port, it seems that bluray has an optical in. Depending on the model of the tv, if it supports ARC, which is audio return channel, the home theater does support it.
