[citation][nom]halcyon[/nom]Yeah but don't you pay some outrageous price for gas...enough to deter people from driving or force them to drive intsy-bintsy tiny cars that don't seem too safe?[/citation]
Bigger doesn't necessarily means safer. Take a look at the Ford F-150, that only after 2003 did the safety improved. Even the smallest car on sale in europe at the time didn't behave that bad in a crash.

Aaaah, I'm an American and I'm patriotic and all. That said...American cars...well, you've pretty much said it...ick.
Anyways, you're right, there's a trade-off, I guess we're stuck with high mobile plans here in the US.

Fortunately, our cars are far more fuel efficient.

They need to start introducing something like Intel's WiDi for streaming the phones screen to your tv/monitor. At $900 I am basically expecting a mini computer in my pocket. Why not go all the way and make it a real computer! Stream the interface right to your desktop and only have a keyboard/mouse/monitor.

Dare I say it, but you can do this on the iPhone 4S.

[citation][nom]Netherscourge[/nom]People complain APPLE products are overpriced?[/citation]

Yes, the iPhone4S is 499 pounds compared to the 449 pounds of the Galaxy Nexus in the UK.

OOps, it really is expensive if it is 549 pounds.

Indeed. Even at £449 the Nexus would be overpriced in relation to the iPhone 4S, remember it has the same GPU (albeit clocked higher) as the original Samsung Galaxy (not the Galaxy S2), making it slower than the Samsung Galaxy S2 which is in turn slower than the iPhone 4S. It also only has a 5 megapixel camera, and potentially wont even be supported 15 months down the line.

So you're saying that iPhone 4 is also overpriced? Because the iPhone 4 16GB costs the exact same price as the Galaxy Nexus 16GB. The big difference is that the Galaxy Nexus comes with a 1.2GHz dual core Cortex-A9, a PowerVR SGX540 and 1GB or RAM as opposed to the IPhone 4 that has a underclocked 1GZ single core Cortex-A8, a PowerVR SGX 535, and 512 MB of RAM.

I still believe that the Galaxy Nexus is expensive because hardware wise the Galaxy S II is superior and it's £150 cheaper.

Huh? RAM is irrelevant. Performance thereof is relevant. The iPhone 4S can get better performance overall using less RAM.

The iPhone 4S has a GPU which is twice as fast. The GPU in the Nexus Prime is 2 years old. The CPU is more advanced, and despite being clocked lower very much holds its own. The iPhone 4S also has a far far better camera. Therefore it easily justifies a premium over the wholly inadequate Nexus.

So no, I'm not saying anything about the iPhone 4, or indeed the iPhone 4S being overpriced. With the iPhone 4S, you get what you pay for.

Just realised that your whole comment is wrong anyway because for some reason you thought I was talking about the iPhone 4....

It's not a fair comparison. $900 dollars includes sales tax. My understanding is that US prices usually don't include tax. Anyway, that's completely misleading, no-one pays for phones in the UK, the mobile phone operators give them away for free. It would be much more accurate to say the phone costs:

$700 (+ sales tax) to buy the phone sim free with no contract.
Free with a 2 year contract at approximately $50 (+ sales tax) a month.

There is no CDMA in the UK, all our phone networks are GSM.
