I feel like I shouldn't have to do so much converting to get my videos on different devices.
Sony should support a wider variety of codecs.
But this goes for the Iphone too. I should be able to drag and drop files from a pc onto my device. It should just work.

[citation][nom]back_by_demand[/nom]You mean Sony right? Like it's refusal to adopt popular tech and push expensive proprietary tech to the detriment of itself?BetamaxMini-DiskDynamic Digital SoundHiFDMusicClipATRACMemory StickConnecteBookUMD drive The last time Sony had a successfully adopted media standard was the 3.5" floppy disk and in technology terms thats like saying the last successful car that Ford had was the Model T. No one is arguing that Sony don't make excellent hardware but their obsesion with creating new media standards is a joke that is so unfunny that it really has to stop and BluRay has only gone to show that winning the battle doesn't always make you right.[/citation]
While I agree with your comment, what about Blu-Ray? I was the first one to be surprised that Sony made a format that won a "war".

I think nvidia needs to come up with a portable gaming device. Something of a blend between ipod, ipad, and psp. Like a touch tablet with built in analog sticks. Maybe a 6 inch screen that will play pc games. :)

I just bought a PSP and I love it. My PS3 at home has a 320Gb hdd and I can access all my movies, music, minis, and PS1 games from anywhere with internet. Also if I leave my pc on I can access all 4Tb of data on it from my PSP via internet to my PS3. The remote play feature was the selling point for me. It is nice to be able to talk my movie collection to anyones house and watch my movies on their TV.
Also God of War Chains... is awesome. Amazing how far the graphics have come from the first gen PSP games.

Or Ati, for you fanboys. My bad.

Being that i have used both extensively, i think between the PSP and the Ipad and the Nintendo
DS, i find the PSP by far the easier to load and unload software. The PSP/go is also easier to hold
onto and it also comes with a built in joystick which neither of the other two have. So he is really talking out his backside on this. Yes Sony does do some crazy things, but then again so does Apple and so does Nintendo, they all like driveing us crazy.

Just like to point out that most of you are bleating on about, my android is better, my fuze is better, my iphone 3gs...blah blah blah.

The psp was launched 5 years ago next week, how long have you have your android and iphone 3gs etc for? And how long will those phones be the "in" thing for, one thing is for sure, they will all have been replaced, and you will be bleating on about your next great thing, and the psp will still be selling and people will still be buying games for it. Not me personally, but you see my point.

When this was launched, it's feature set, although still lacking, couldn't be matched by other devices, and also include major games releases. So get some perspective before posting garbage and bloating out a page with worthless comments.

Think before you post and all seem like 13yr old boys at school doing a round of my dad is better than your dad

The user experience is fine for me in those respects, but the web browser is pathetic and it is only wireless B as far as I recall and so is the PSP go. slow useless web browser.. and on top of that, whenever I look to see how many games are being developed for it it has very few compared to nintendo ds... which is a far inferior console to this one. and also the games cost more money to package for nintendo ds than psp.

I love the games on the PSP!
I love the fact that I can get mobile with Playstation 2-like games!

I experience a few issues though:
1- The internal speakers are tiny, and not loud, and the headphones are barely loud enough to enjoy the game!
2- Loading games takes too long (they should get off of disc type games (CD/UMD), and onto flash type (SD/MMC) of storage for games).
3- They have too many 'security updates'. I hate the fact that in the beginning nearly every month I could download updates, and that some games did not work without those updates. This all to fight the homebrew guys who managed to create some funky games on the PSP.
4- I would have loved it if I could use my sony PSP for games, and install a Windows or Linux client on it, without Sony constantly blocking access to their device.
5- PSP games on UMD are becoming extinct. There's really nothing interesting out there, and many games that are available on UMD are downgraded versions of PC games (eg worms, bought it, and regretted buying it after playing it only for 15 minutes.. The character can do absolutely nothing and the worlds are small).
6- battery life of the PSP is too short! After the purchase of a $200 PSP, I purchased an additional $100 from the grey market, a 4GB SSD with MMC plug(new back in those days), and an extension battery with 2,5x the original PSP battery capacity.

Initially I purchased the PSP thinking it could be my very first DOS emulator (for DOS games) on the go!
I was wrong! The PSP has been laying in a bag in a corner for about 2 years now. In total I have enjoyed only Sony's Ridge Racer 2 game; all others I found seriously lacking in gaming enjoyment.

Bought PSP, used it sparingly. Bought iPhone. Sold PSP and don't miss it at all.

I've purchased a PSP a while ago and ended it up selling to purchase another system at Gamestop...

The reasons I didn't really like it were lack of games and the only thing Sony did when coming out with newer versions of the device was the make is slimmer... that's it... nothing else...

It's a great little device but becomes boring very quickly...

@back_by_demand : Only time will tell, but so far I'm inclined to think like you. I recently bought an HDTV and I had no intention of ever buying a blu-ray player, but the fact that the download speed of a 1080p movie is very slow and that it's hard to flawlessly stream on a network makes me think twice...

PSP is only worthwhile if you have a hackable one. Lots of good homebrew and emulators out there. Otherwise I agree, its pretty worthless.

[citation][nom]kennyforgames[/nom]he dont know sh*t about psp is a handheld portable gaming console, I dont think he can play street fighter with ipod the way he can do it in psp.[/citation]
This is the VP of the critically acclaimed codemasters studio. It is his job to know this kind of stuff. Just because you don't agree with him does not means that he doesn't know anything.

Just sayin.

I like my PSP. The only problem I have is that there are very few good games for it. The same is true for all portable systems however. Sony does need to come out the PSP 2 soon though... the PSP is getting really old.

When the psp dropped ipods were just getting color. Im using a fat psp with sony firmware and it has evolved more than any other device i have ever seen. Think about it, same hardware, but thru firmware upgrades i now can read comics, watch avi's, download podcasts, view pictures, browse the web, remote into my ps3... idk. i just love the damned thing.
