My older headset broke and now I'm looking for an upgrade. Both the Gamecom 788 (54 euro) and the HyperX headset (83,50 euro) seem really good. The Gamecom headset is cheaper though so I want to know if I will notice any major differences in audio?

I don't have a soundcard and I'd rather not buy one for now. I have a Gigabyte H81M-HD3 motherboard.

Ok ive used both of these headsets so you know. The HyperX is pretty atractive because it comes with a lot of accsessories, bag, extra cables, etc. The Gamecom i think has better sound ,though it doesnt come with accsessories. Also, keep in mind the HyperX has a removable mic, so if you wanted to take a walk and listen to some music, you wouldnt have a mic in front of your face, but if you just want to use this at home - the Gamecom does the job. To sum this up, the Gamecom has better sound, and the HyperX comes with a lot of useful accessories. If you have any questions just ask.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your answer. I already had that feeling the Gamecom 788 would come out on top with audio quality based on the research I've done about it. Unfortunately, I have already ordered the HyperX Cloud just an hour ago. Well, Im not expecting to be dissapointed.

Thanks again.

So now I've got a question again. Im assuming Im not getting the best out of my HyperX Cloud headset because I don't have an audio converter (DAC) or headphone amplifier. This way I am actually bottlenecking my headset. Is there one DAC or Headphone amplifier I can buy that doesn't cost more than 60 euros that would definitely improve the audio quality?

Here is one example I've found from someone who 'recommended' it in a forum but Im not sure if it would help me:
